![]() In MY opinion, I'd gladly pay up to ~20% with Sixt just to avoid Thrift/Dollar.For retail rentals only secured with Extended Protection within the cost of the rental (excluding any liability protection or insurance coverage provided under a commercial contract), the following shall apply:Įxtended Protection (EP) (Where available): Owner provides Renter or any AAD with third party liability protection in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the vehicle (the Primary Protection). Turo probably NOT the way to go in Vegas (and I use Turo a lot when it is a good way to go).įor best price - Hotwire Hotrate Manager Special - you might be stuck with Thrifty/Dollar and those guys suck really really bad.įor best customer service - Check out Sixt, they might even be the cheapest (or almost cheap enough). I also used them in Dallas and had a great experience there. And frankly going forward, even if Sixt ends up costing a little more, they have the best cars and the best customer service. They were by far the cheapest choice on that trip (and not too much more than Thrifty special above the other time). The time before that I found out about Sixt (they are located across the street from the official McCarren rental center). Thrifty is an awful scammy company and the car (a 2014 Toyota Yaris with hand crank windows and ~40k mi) had problems (the driver side door keyhole wouldn't work - there was no remote - would have to open car from the hatchback).Īnyway, back on point. Last time I went to Vegas I ended up renting from Thrifty - it was the "Hotwire Hot Rate" mystery "manager's special" car. In Vegas - Turo is actually NOT a great way to go, or at least it wasn't last time I tried a couple months ago.
